30th Anniversary Ceremony of the Drug Administration of Vietnam (Ministry of Health) (13 August 1996 - 13 August 2026)

On 7 August 2026, INCHAM Hanoi was honored to attend the 30th Anniversary Ceremony of the Drug Administration of Vietnam (DAV), Ministry of Health, marking three decades of important contributions to the development and regulation of Vietnam’s pharmaceutical sector.

The ceremony brought together Minister of Health Dao Hong Lan, leaders and former leaders of the Ministry and DAV, representatives of international organizations, diplomatic missions, healthcare associations, pharmaceutical businesses, academia and other partners.

Over the past 30 years, DAV has played a vital role in pharmaceutical state management, contributing to the development of policies and regulations and ensuring the availability of quality, safe and effective medicines. The pharmaceutical sector has continued to strengthen its production capacity, resilience and international cooperation, particularly during public health emergencies and supply chain disruptions.

Looking ahead, Minister Dao Hong Lan emphasized the vision of developing Vietnam’s pharmaceutical industry to regional advanced standards, while ensuring affordable access to medicines and strengthening domestic capabilities in research, production and technology transfer. Six key priorities were highlighted:

Improve pharmaceutical policies, institutions and regulations.

Ensure sufficient, timely and affordable access to quality medicines.

Promote domestic pharmaceutical production and technology transfer.

Strengthen medicine quality management and combat counterfeit and substandard medicines.

Accelerate administrative reform and digital transformation.

Develop a professional, highly qualified and internationally integrated pharmaceutical workforce.
